Table for Two

A table set for two,

Now empty setting,

Where ghosts of lives,

And fading voices,

Still linger in the silence.

Between close friends,

Laughter once heard,

And secrets shared,

Over a steaming cup,

Held in safe keeping.

Two lovers hear,

Loves whispered words,

A lingering look,

As hands reach out,

Across the table top.

In business suits men,

Speak of politics,

And economic growth,

Negotiating deals,

To change the world.

A couple old,

Weathered by time,

 Sit comfortably in quiet,

And smiling reminisce,

Of times gone by.

A table set for two,

Where every day,

New faces meet,

And stories write,

Remaining yet untold.

Unhinged

Unhinged, unpinned,

From what unknown,

Ship without anchor,

Adrift on open ocean,

So far from shore,

Lost amidst waves,

Blown by the wind,

To where unseen,

No shelter found.

But yet I float,

Breathe in the air,

Through motions go,

Move without thought,

Speak words unheard,

Laugh behind tears,

Continue search,

And wait,

For what unknown.

In Dreams

Fatigued in search,

Eyes closed in expectation,

And slumber takes control,

He visits her in dreams,

Her heart he comes to claim.

His face she’s never seen,

Yet a familiar silhouette,

Even in darkness known,

With fingertips she traces,

Elusive outline near,

But yet so far from grasp.

Through parted lips escape a sigh,

Though beyond touch,

His warmth invades her skin,

Possessing mind and soul,

Her body melding into his.

A ghost or future seen,

Spurned from her yearning,

To once again discover love,

A place to call her home,

Where I will become us,

Alone no more.

Let Me Fly

Let me fly,

To spread my wings,

And glide across an open sky.

So far above the throngs of life,

Free to explore,

Far away from pressures rife.

Resting upon the passing clouds,

Soft bed to lay my head,

Distant from the thriving crowds.

To feel the sun upon my face,

Wrapped in its warmth,

Stress disappears in its embrace.

Nothing to do, nowhere to be,

Moments are timeless,

Towards horizon I can see.

No longer obstacles remain,

Dreams within reach,

Only me to take the reign.

The only sound I wish to hear,

A summer wind,

My life to steer.

Walking

We walk and walk and walk,

Towards what we know naught.

A destination yet unseen,

Leaving behind places we’ve been.

Though part of who we are today,

In yesterday we must not stay.

We cannot escape the past,

Towards the future moving fast.

Must try to learn to slow the pace,

For life is not a speedy race.

Take time to savour every day,

Breathe in what’s seen along the way.

Canvass of beauty rich and rare,

Passed by if no moment to stare.

Opening mind our heart and soul,

We will achieve ultimate goal.

If we but let go of resentment,

We will in life find true contentment.

The love and happiness we seek,

No longer will future seem bleak.

Life is at times a solo ride,

At others someone by our side.

Whether we share the walk or not,

Peace will be found inside if sought.

With hope of love ….

A Glance

It started with a smile,

A sidewards glance,

That pierced the cool facade,

And saw into the depths,

Of burning passions,

Buried with passing years,

Which stirred a dormant heart,

To once again beat into life,

With hope of love ….

More Scattered Thoughts

Embrace the unknown for it may be your destiny.

Talk to me of your dreams and together we will realise them.

You touch my body, but it is my heart you set alight.

He speaks … Like music to my ears and to my heart a symphony that only I can hear.

The greatest friendships are often born of the greatest enemies.

Do not deny the past for it has made you who you are and shown you what you can become.

Where do you dwell?  That only in my dreams you do appear.

I wake up to the sound of rain falling on my window pane … The week comes to end time to myself around the bend.

Sleep you seduce me with your promise of serenity and rejuvenation of the mind.

Talk to me of your dreams and together we will realise them.

When Words End

love-e1332185370374

When words end and love begins,

That moment when a lingering gaze,

Becomes a look speaking in silence,

Tentative brush of hands,

And butterflies take flight,

Heart misses beat,

Creating unheard rhythm,

Set pace to quickening breath,

Lips part in an inviting smile,

Telling of pleasures yet unspoken,

That instant body set alight,

In love’s anticipation.

Whisper in the Wind

I heard a whisper in the wind,

It spoke of places not yet seen.

Dreams of youth not realised,

Moments captured by surprise.

Love experienced at first sighted,

Heartache followed uninvited.

Opportunities not seized,

Signs along the way but missed.

Goals set forth but not achieved,

Lost the courage to believe.

As I listened voice grew stronger,

Not a whisper any longer.

Each day time to start anew,

Approach with an open view.

Open doors and life will follow,

In the past we must not wallow.

Live the moment here and now,

Each hearbeat will show your how.

Let your instincts be your guide,

Any obstacles will survive.

A Speck Of Sand

A speck of sand,

In life’s vast desert,

Blown by the wind,

Burnt by the sun,

Unique but insignificant,

Hidden amongst humanity,

Waiting for discovery,

And given voice.
